SFM Names a New Executive Director

Mary Gratzer has been named executive director of the Society for Foodservice Management (SFM), succeeding Greg Hobby. (Hobby has become the executive director of the International Food Service Executives Association, IFSEA).

Gratzer was SFM's director of programs from 2003 to 2005, and previously has handled chapter development, educational programming and membership recruitment and operations for the association. In her new role, she will be responsible for implementing policies set by the SFM board of directors, developing its annual budget, conference planning and directing all support staff.

FSA Group, the association management company that manages SFM, has also announced that Lieann O'Brien has been named its president. O'Brien replaces Joe Broom, who had served as president of FSA Group for the past three years and who has left the organization to pursue other interests.

O'Brien has served as the executive director of the board of the International Association of Culinary Professionals (also managed by FSA Group) since last December. Before that, she was executive director of Women's Chefs and Restaurateurs.
