Chicago—NutraSweet Co. has promoted President/COO Craig Petray to CEO and named two other top officers to stabilize its executive leadership in the wake of the resignation last fall of former CEO Larry Benjamin. Petray had been executing most chief executive functions since Benjamin left to join US Foodservice as CEO.
Also named to new posts were William DeFer, the former head of the company’s Korean business unit, who now becomes president/COO, succeeding Petray, and James Stanley as CFO. Stanley, a former vp-finance at Northwest Airlines, takes over for William Schumacher, who is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.
