UCLA is initiating a kosher meal program in its dining halls that will also become an option in its meal plan offerings for the first time, reports the Daily Bruin. Beginning this fall, Covel and Hedrick dining halls will offer dinners that fit kosher requirements Monday through Thursday. Kosher dinners were already available Friday evening at the campus’s Hillel Center, while kosher lunches have been available for the past year at The Shack at Hillel. The kosher meals at the dining halls, which also meet halal requirements for observant Muslims, will be provided by an outside company, Bistro Baguette Café. The Kosher Bruin Plus Supplemental Meal Plan will cost an additional $423 for fall quarter.
