NACUFS Recognizes Great Nutrition, Sustainability and Wellness Programs

Nutrition Awards for Best Local Recipe Most Innovative Wellness and Nutrition Program

At the 2013 national NACUFS conference in Minneapolis, several members were honored with awards that focused on healthier menus and ways to get customers interested in leading healthier lives. Also, local and sustainable menu directions were a focus.

The Nutrition Awards for Best Local Recipe were awarded to:


Gold: Michigan State University for the its food-truck creation, the Smoked Cheddar Cheeseburger

Silver: University of Connecticut for Port Stew with Fennel and Butternut Squash

Silver: Oklahoma State University for Grilled Chicken Salad with Cilantro Lime Dressing

Bronze: University of Minnesota for Dirty Farro

 

The Nutrition Awards for the Most Innovative Wellness and Nutrition Program were presented to:

Gold: Oklahoma State University for its Understanding Healthy Dining program

Silver: University of Massachusetts-Amherst for its Healthy Protein Promotion

Bronze: College of the Holy Cross for its Kimball Takeover program
