The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa will operate a "mini food court" inside the campus' Bryant-Denny Stadium that will be open and accessible all week for walk-in traffic, reports the Tuscaloosa News. The venue will feature two local restaurant concepts: Yogurt Lab and Zoe's, a Mediterranean themed eatery. In addition, campus concessions provider Centerplate will operate a logoed merchandise kiosk in the area, which is located under an archway offering access into a viewing area inside the stadium's south end zone.
The entrance will remain open during the week to allow walk-in visitors and students to see the inside of the stadium, the school's most popular attraction. In addition, campus tours will originate in the area, called the South End Zone Market, beginning this fall.
The dining outlets will be open during the week as well as during stadium events. There is seating both in the walkway area and in a separate glassed-in section. School officials hope that the concepts, despite not serving traditional concessions fare, will find a customer base among students living in area, which includes the university's sorority row as well as an all-female residence hall.
