Biometric entry facilitates universal dining access

When the University of St. Thomas went to an unlimited meal plan, it deployed a touchless hand scan system to streamline validation and checkout.

The University of St. Thomas in Minnesota is going touchless with its dining hall entry system by installing biometric hand scanners at the entryways. The move, which requires all students with meal plans to enroll in the program by having their hands scanned and logged, coincides with the introduction of an unlimited dining meal plan that will let students come in as often as they choose.
