Chartwells opens checkout-free store at University of Houston

University of Houston and Chartwells Higher Education have partnered with autonomous checkout technology firm Standard to transform the on-campus c-store into the nation’s first retrofitted, completely touchless, cashier-less retail outlet.

Convenience was made even more convenient at the University of Houston (UH) recently as the university and dining services partner Chartwells Higher Education partnered with autonomous checkout technology vendor Standard to transform an on-campus c-store into what they say is the nation’s first retrofitted, completely touchless, cashier-less retail experience.
