NC State Dining holds culinary boot camp for students

Topics covered included allergen and food safety training, basic knife skills, equipment operation, recipe basics, teamwork, time management and logistics.

Just before the start of fall classes, North Carolina State University (NC State) Dining hosted 17 students for the department’s first Culinary Boot Camp at Case Dining Hall, where students learned about culinary topics such as allergen and food safety, basic knife skills, equipment operation and recipe basics along with more general business skills like teamwork, time management and logistics.
