“The staff is really pumped up…we have some beautiful food and we’re really excited to showcase what we have to offer,” says Anthony Legname, campus executive chef for Sodexo at Marist.

Opening day

The excitement really built up around the opening of the new North End. Legname says he’s eager to get feedback from students on the new offerings.

The calm before the storm

Soft, muted colors bring a rejuvenating vibe to a space that’s been bustling with activity since it’s opened.

Bringing off-campus eatery on campus

The signature station at the new North End could easily be Rossi’s Deli. Rossi & Sons Rosticceria (aka Rossi’s Deli) is a family-run Poughkeepsie fixture since 1979 and perennial off-campus favorite of Marist students. The family decided to bring a Rossi’s Deli to campus, only the second location in 40 years. (Pictured, two Rossi brothers set up the concept on opening day).

Rossi’s chicken cutlets on focaccia

“We’ve been very fortunate and in fact we’ve had the opportunity to do differing things and said no to most, but when this came along we knew it was right…I’m so happy about the relationship we have with Marist,” says Fabio Rossi, co-owner of Rossi’s Deli. The Rossi’s menu for its campus location includes focaccia filled with vodka chicken parm, salty Italian deli meats and chicken cutlets.

Made to order at the North End Grill

Customization is a part of many stations throughout North End. Students can create their own signature sandwich at the North End Grill, choosing proteins, toppings, cheeses and spreads. Eggs are made to order with cheese, bread and toppings available in any combination of three.

Mindful comfort food

Personal pizzas and mini-casseroles (casserettes) are part of the Sodexo-developed Mindful station, which emphasizes whole ingredients and transparency, proving that it’s possible to make healthful comfort food.

Bowls for health

Salad and grain bowls with lean protein are another part of Sodexo’s Mindful philosophy. These are easily customized and also available composed, like this winter squash and pecan beauty.

But first, coffee

Café Bustelo is serving coffee drinks both hot and cold, with “cafecito” espresso shots available to perk things up even more at the new venue.

Burgers

Burgers are available on the grill with the choice of grass-fed beef, turkey, chicken or meatless (a portobello mushroom cap).

Bakery bonanza

The bakery has many choices of muffins, scones and more.
