Paul Walsh, formerly CEO of liquor maker Diageo (Gordon's, Smirnoff, etc.), is set to be named chairman of Compass Group next February, reports the Telegraph. Walsh will be succeeding Roy Gardner, who had announced earlier this year that he would be stepping down from the role he had served in since 2006 effective next February following the company's 2014 annual meeting.
Walsh is noted for expanding Diageo's business into emerging markets, a strategy that Compass has also indicated it wants to pursue more aggressively.
