In Vino, Not So Much Veritas

An investigation by the University of Connecticut has found that the researcher whose studies claimed to prove the healthful effects of red wine consumption had fabricated much of his results. Coming on top of the recent deflowering of the olive oil industry by New Yorker contributor Tom Mueller in his book Extra Virginity: the Sublime and Scandalous World of Olive Oil, consumers might well feel justified in turning to potato chips and gin for solace (and revenge).

So now, Just Desserts is just wondering which acclaimed superfood will be the next to come clean about its seamy underside…
