Farm-to-table design wows at new hospital café

With warm wood tones, soft lighting and distinct spaces for new food concepts, the new café at Asheville’s Mission Hospital opened this fall as a retail haven for guests and staff.

In the best interior design, form and function go hand in hand—and look great doing so. Replacing a tired old cafeteria, a stylish new café opened on Sept. 30 at Mission Hospital Memorial Campus’s J Building in Asheville, N.C. The on-trend design, 12,000 square feet of modern materials and colors, is matched by its food concepts, each with “its own identity with an overall focus on wellness,” says Emily McCabe, Morrison Healthcare director of food and nutrition services at Mission Hospital. “Team members and visitors will be able to come to the cafeteria and experience a different food journey each time.”
