The South Windsor (CT) school district has seen a 21 percent decline in sales of school meals in the past year, reports the South Windsor Patch.Director of Food Services Marianne Lopez noted that changes to the menu plan required by federal school meal regulations had resulted in a reduction in participation. meanwhile, price increases for fruits and vegetables—now required to be part of all qualifying school meals—increased department costs.
