Nassau County (FL) Schools showcased its new school food menu for the coming year in a public menu tasting held before the start of the school year, reports the Florida Times-Union. The purpose of the event, to which both parents and students were invited, was to try to counteract the stereotyped reputation of school food in the public mind and to introduce some of the new items that will be on the menu this fall. Items taste-tested included sweet-potato-crusted fish, whole wheat stuffed-crust pepperoni pizza and spinach wraps made with turkey and cheese.
