The Yakima (WA) School Board has approved a one-year fee-based contract (with four optional one-year renewals) with Sodexo that guarantees to save the district $669,339, reports the Yakima Herald. All of the food program’s projected $6.6 million in revenue will go to the district, which will pay the labor costs for its workers and will pay Sodexo a flat $1.552 for most meals served and $1.389 for some federally subsidized meals, or about $3.2 million for the 2012-13 school year.
