Fiscal 2014 Revenues: $28,000,000
The onsite foodservice arm of the Luby’s cafeteria chain, LCS in 2014 transitioned the three hospitals in the Harris County (Texas) Health System to a new model of foodservice and clinical support using its Luby’s brand and restaurant systems to drive costs down while increasing satisfaction.
It also implemented its healthcare delegate system to provide a complete room service program with efficiencies derived from hosting the program server at a central location at Luby’s headquarters rather than duplicating it at each site. This allows menu changes and upgrades to made quickly and easily system-wide but does not compromise patient confidentiality as individual info doesn’t leave the hospital.
Also, to-go packaging has been revamped to better identify the company brand and heighten ease of customer use, and a new catering menu was introduced that incorporates customizable inserts or pages that reflect specific clients and customers preferences.
