Clark County Detention Reups With Aramark

The board of commissioners of Clark County, NV, overruled the staff at the county detention center and renewed current contract holder Aramark Correctional Services for another year.

By a 5-2 vote, the board of commissioners of Clark County, NV (Las Vegas), overruled the staff at the county detention center and renewed current contract holder Aramark Correctional Services for another year with a $5 million deal, reports the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The staff at the 4,000-inmate facility had chosen the $4.74 million bid from California-based New Era Foods Co. but Aramark protested that New Era lacked the experience needed to properly manage foodservice in a correctional facility as large as Clark County Detention, and a majority of the commissioners agreed with that assessment.
