Philly Mayor Appoints Committee to Study Homeless Feeding

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter has appointed a committee to develop a plan to feed the city's homeless following criticism of his proposed ban on outdoor soup kitchens, reports the Chronicle of Philanthropy. The mayor had advocated closing open-air feeding stations for the homeless near the new $200 million Barnes Collection Museum, drawing charges that keeping homeless away from the museum site was the real reason for the ban.
