The College of DuPage in suburban Chicago has extended its contract with campus dining services provider Sodexo despite the latter's intention to bring Chick-fil-A to the Glen Ellyn campus that had provoked controversy, reports the Daily Herald. DuPage's board of trustees voted 4-3 to approve the contract extension with the amendment to bring a unit of the popular chicken chain to the school's cafeteria.
Chick-fil-A is controversial because of past comments made by President/CEO Dan Cathy that some construe as anti-gay. Over the past few years, the chain has provoked controversy at a number other schools such as Indiana University in South Bend and Elon University.
