Grill Promotes Summer Feeding Program at Local Park

Each Friday, the Crawfordsville, IN, Schools and Chartwells operate a grill serving hamburgers and hot dogs that drew the summer feeding program's largest crowds to date.

In order to boost interest in its summer feeding program, the Crawfordsville IN, Community School Corporation and dining services provider Chartwells have set up a grill serving hamburgers and hot dogs at a local park that is a summer feeding site, reports the Journal-Review. The first grilling event drew the program's largest crowd so far and Chartwells says it will repeat the event each Friday during the summer, and may even expand it to a second day of the week. The site, at Milligan Park, usually offers only cold meals consisting of sandwiches, fruits, vegetables and milk.
