Social Networking App Connects to Yale Dining

Huddlr will provide department with data on use of its dining outlets.

An app developed by students that lets users to keep track of where their friends are has recently been connected to Yale University Dining Services to let them see where those friends are eating, reports the Yale Daily News. Huddlr, which electronically tracks users through Facebook accounts, will now be able to alert them when their friends enter Yale dining establishments, including all dining halls as well as retail venues like Durfee’s and Thain Family Café.

The app is also expected to aid Yale Dining by providing more nuanced data than the department's own app, since it provides information on the amount of time people spend in each dining hall as well as how many swiped in. It will also pass along qualitative information to Yale Dining such as student comments and suggestions.
