Recipient of the 2013 IFMA Gold Plate heads Atlanta-based firm that manages B&I dining operations for a number of clients along with commercial restaurants.

The National Restaurant Association has selected John C. Metz, CEO, executive chef and co-founder of Atlanta-based Sterling Spoon Culinary Management, to serve as its convention chair for the 2015 National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show and the 2015 Beverage Alcohol for Restaurants (previously known as the International Wine, Spirits & Beer Event).

The 2015 NRA Show will take place May 16-19 at Chicago's McCormick Place and the 2015 BAR at the NRA Show will take place May 17-18 in the adjacent Lakeside Ballroom at McCormick Place.

"John Metz's 31 years of restaurant and hospitality experience will be an invaluable resource to our team through providing leadership and insights into what is most timely and critical to the operator community."

Metz, a member of NRA's Board of Directors since 2006 and the 2013 recipient of an IFMA Silver Plate and Gold Plate Award, heads Atlanta-based Sterling Spoon, which operates a number of commercial restaurants along with managing dining for B&I clients. He is the son of John Metz, founder and current executive chairman of Metz Culinary Management.
