Whitsons derives almost 30 percent of its revenues from the production of meals for the company’s various dining operations and for independent senior dining programs and the consumer market. Otherwise, it is primarily a K-12 specialist contracting with over a hundred districts, including Boston Public Schools, with which it inked a three year extension last August.
New menu initiatives include the Simply Classic, Tastefully Plated line of prepared meals in clear, vacuum-sealed packaging that are aesthetically presented and simple for customers to retherm.
A new automated back-office system, Dine Central, streamlines administrative tasks and improves business processes, allowing more time for customer engagement, more transaction transparency and reduced costs.
