Get ready for March Madness, food style. The matchups here are played out on the food court, not the basketball court. Our selection committee has chosen this field of 16 schools to participate in Menu Madness. Each week we’ll narrow the field until we crown the ultimate college food champion.
Here’s how it works. There will be four rounds of voting to determine the winner. The school that gets the most votes in each round will move on, so make sure you get your student base involved. For the competition, each school put up its all-star player—a best-seller, student-favorite or innovative dish.
To get started, check out the all-star menu items in the slideshow and then vote for your favorite (below) in each matchup.
Here are the results of the first round of voting:
Ohio State beat Virginia 60% to 40%
Cincinnati beat Tennessee 60% to 40%
Xavier beat Gonzaga 55% to 45%
North Carolina beat Michigan 61% to 39%
Villanova beat Wichita State 61% to 39%
Purdue beat West Virginia 56% to 44%
Kansas beat Miami 53% to 47%
Duke beat Michigan State 52% to 48%
The second round of voting ends at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, March 25. Check back in on Monday for the third round.
