Go big for Oktoberfest
The Sodexo dining team at Marist College brought a taste of Germany to Poughkeepsie at the recent Oktoberfest, held at the Murray Student Center dining hall. Traditional German clothing was available for students to change into for photo ops with the giant bratwurst.
Setting the mood
The dining hall was transformed with banners, barrels, baskets of apples, mood lighting, flowers and autumn accents throughout.
Pretzel bites were the first stop for many attendees
And what better accompaniment to pretzel bites than ooey gooey cheese sauce?
Powered by delicious cheese and pretzels, students got creative with a paint-your-own-pumpkin craft station.
No such thing as too many pretzels
Pretzels also played a big role at William & Mary’s Oktoberfest celebration, where the dining team made a lunch and dinner of it with special entrees, desserts, hot bar, grill and salad bar items.
Fun on a bun
Classic Oktoberfest fare at William & Mary included kielbasa topped with sauerkraut.
Pies on the prize
Chicken pot pie was another one of the Oktoberfest entrees at William & Mary.
Tis the season
Apples are such a great sign of fall and were the perfect finale for an apple bread pudding at William & Mary.
Walk the line
Oktoberfest can also be celebrated simply on the line, as shown here at Sage College of Albany, featuring pork schnitzel, spaetzel, potato pancakes, sautéed red cabbage and roasted Brussels sprouts.
