Ohio District Makes Extra Cash With External Meal Sales

Springfield (OH) City Schools is supplementing its bottom line by securing foodservice customers outside the district, reports the Springfield News-Sun. Currently, the district's central kitchen produces about 800 meals a day for outside customers in addition to the some 8,500 it produces for its own cafeterias. Customers include Springfield Head Start, Springfield Catholic Central, Clark County Educational Service Center and OIC of Clark County.
