Hartford (CT) Public Schools has expanded its summer food program to libraries, reports WNPR News. The system serves about 20,000 lunches a day during the year, a total that drops to around 5,000 at the peak of the summer feeding program. To increase that number, meals are now delivered to Hartford's ten public library branches. Currently, they are reaching around 300 children a day, according to local reports.
